Text

The Member is absolutely right. That is primarily where action should occur in legitimate confrontations about flag-flying and cultural respect. Does the Member agree that, where there clearly are threats, intimidation or paramilitary or illegal activity, that is for the existing statutes to deal with? We have terrorism legislation and public order legislation. Regulations are already in place for DFI and other agencies. Does she agree that the legislation that is already in place must step up and that enforcement must be applied, instead of our creating blanket legislation and another layer of regulation that, ultimately, will lead to a less productive DFI?
