The Northern Ireland Courts and Tribunals Service has recently completed a public consultation on a proposal for the permanent closure and disposal of Limavady courthouse. The consultation paper and associated impact assessment documents are available on the departmental website. Thirty responses were received during the consultation process, which ran for 12 weeks from 29 May 2026 to 21 August 2026. Following the conclusion of the consultation process and consideration of the responses, I intend to announce a decision on the way forward in the coming weeks. A summary report on the consultation responses will be published alongside that announcement.
