Text
I rise to support the Chair's remarks on the proposed changes and to commend the work of the Committee over the past number of months and, indeed, years. It is a very good Committee, which works very well. The amendments to the unacceptable behaviours policy are common sense and are borne out of experience over the last number of years. They add to the code of conduct and the behavioural policies. It seems a bit surreal that we are speaking about good behaviour and codes of conduct in the week after the weekend that we have just had, but there you have it; this has been put down as an item of business in the House. I commend the work of the Committee and support the changes. They are common sense and will make for a better and more common-sense reading of the rules of conduct.
