Text
Let me be clear: the First Minister is not above the law. Furthermore, she should be coming to the House to answer questions. First and foremost, I was acting in my role as an MLA, but I accept that the ministerial code applies at all times. That is why I came to the House and answered questions. I did not shy away from doing so. It is right that MLAs had the opportunity to scrutinise me. I never run away from scrutiny in the House. I think that I have brought more ministerial statements to the House than anyone else and have answered more questions than anybody else. I have no issue whatsoever with Members asking me questions.
