Text
Sex addiction and addiction to pornography are classified as sexual disorders, not sexual orientations. That issue is distinct from a person's sexual orientation. In fact, the motivation in that circumstance is not to suppress sexual orientation but to suppress the disorder that the person is struggling with, which is a completely legitimate thing for a counsellor, therapist or other medical professional to be involved in. It also does no harm to the individual, because what you are dissuading the individual from doing is engaging in harmful behaviour.
