Text

I thank the Member for the opportunity to respond, and it is important that we clarify this once again. The Equality Commission and the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission are able to undertake equality screening only of policy change that they themselves are introducing. It is not their role to equality screen or conduct equality impact assessments of other policies and legislation. They may be able to advise and engage, and we have engaged with the Equality Commission and the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission. I have correspondence from and notes of meetings with both bodies. I am more than happy to share those with the Member to give her the reassurance that she is looking for that these issues have been considered in full.

Not flagged

Jev’s structured answers met the documented threshold for “not flagged”.

  • Overall probability that the activity is being used to promote, exploit or escalate an identity-based controversy: 0.07 (flagging needs at least 0.70; at or below 0.30 is not flagged).

  • No identity-based framing was identified (1.00).
  • The overall probability was at or below the not-flagging threshold.

This is an AI-generated assessment of the text, made against published criteria. It is not a finding of fact about the MLA or their intentions. The Assembly record itself is the fact.
