Was the Mr O'Toole's intervention just another example of the idea that some politicians have that, "Something must be done. Here is something we can do, so we must do it"? There does not need to be a logic or a line that it will solve anything. It is just that, in the absence of anything else, we must just go ahead and put the legislation through, regardless of how bad it is.
