Text

Welcome, Minister. It is a difficult portfolio, and we all wish you well in taking it on. Minister, do you recognise that the Northern Trust's proposal is essentially one to manage failure, given the crumbling service at Antrim Area Hospital and the proposal to remove the service from the Causeway, which is currently sustainable? It is about managing that failure rather than about investing in two services that will facilitate people on the north coast and in Antrim.

Minister, do you consider that Antrim Area Hospital being the overspill hospital for the Belfast Trust is the cost of failure and that we need to look at that if we are to genuinely ease the pressures that exist there?

Assessment

Not flagged

Jev’s structured answers met the documented threshold for “not flagged”.

  • Overall probability that the activity is being used to promote, exploit or escalate an identity-based controversy: 0.04 (flagging needs at least 0.70; at or below 0.30 is not flagged).
  • None of the five culture-war criteria was met (each was below 0.60).
  • Assessed as legitimate policy scrutiny (0.94).
  • No identity-based framing was identified (1.00).
  • The overall probability was at or below the not-flagging threshold.

This is an AI-generated assessment of the text, made against published criteria. It is not a finding of fact about the MLA or their intentions. The Assembly record itself is the fact.
