Text
Thank you, Minister. Minister, you said that you want the new curriculum to be rich and filled with powerful knowledge. I am really concerned about the fact that the mandatory period for learning languages is only three years in Northern Ireland. I have a profound fear that the failure to make modern languages a universal entitlement will mean that children who come from disadvantaged backgrounds will be less likely to have that knowledge and skill set. Is that something that you will seek to reform through the consultation period? Will you take that into account?
