Text
I pay tribute to all of the families who have spoken out about Muckamore and the abuse, especially my constituents and Alicia Fox, Laura Sharp and their families. The Minister mentioned the trust. Does he have any concerns about the approach of its legal team? My understanding is that, at best, it has been obstructive towards the families and that it has probably been worse than that. It is often said that a fish rots from the head, and I believe that the rot in Muckamore started with the leadership at the Belfast Trust and at Department level. As was touched on, there is huge concern, Minister, about accountability at senior levels of the health service. People at the heart of the health service and the Department from the time of the events of the Muckamore inquiry have been rewarded with well-paid jobs and, in some cases, royal titles. Does he have any concern about that, and, if he does, what action will he take?
