Text
Members can be assured of our commitment to making devolution work. We have an agreed Programme for Government and have committed over £230 million pounds over the next five years to a range of innovative projects to support and drive transformation across our public services. It will make a real difference, but much more needs to be done. The reality is that the current funding package for Northern Ireland does not match the scale of the challenges facing our public services. Our firm view is that the current fiscal position is unsustainable and that Westminster can and should do more. We have presented a case directly to the Secretary of State and the Prime Minister and will continue to make the strongest possible case for a funding settlement that reflects local needs and supports the sustainable delivery of public services.
