Text
That was one consultation in one area, and the Member has rightly highlighted the fact that retail workers were evenly split on it. It is important that we recognise the concerns that many people have. Often, those who were opposed were the most passionate about their view, because they would be more impacted on than anybody else. It is clear that there is no consensus on the issue among those who are involved, which includes the 40% of businesses that are not seeking a change. Given the time that remains in the mandate, that is not the right priority for us.
