Text
I have asked officials to ensure that there is one DAERA approach, because you have the Northern Ireland Environment Agency and the veterinary service responding to it, and district councils also have a responsibility. Ultimately, we do not want to see this activity happening. That is one of the key issues arising from this. It can also take some time for people to identify and become aware that the incidents have occurred. Ultimately, the landowner has responsibility for the removal of the carcasses, but we are seeking to work with our partners, be that in councils or across the Department, on a response. I urge people to bring forward any information, if they have it.
