Text
I will meet Shared Environmental Services on Wednesday. I am respectful of the fact that it is a shared service that has been set up by councils, so the authority sits with them. I have asked for a representative from the Northern Ireland Local Government Association (NILGA) to be at that meeting, because councillors have a role to play. I get people's frustrations with Shared Environmental Services, particularly when it comes to an inability to get clarification on, and a response to, issues from it. That is why I asked for Wednesday's meeting. I will seek to find a better way forward, because there is real frustration with Shared Environmental Services in the agriculture community and a need to turn around queries on the issue that the Member has raised.
