Text

I am more than happy to answer that. First, I draw the Member's attention to the fact that we do not currently have an ombudsman. It is therefore unfair to discuss a private individual and make allegations about how they conducted themselves in their role or how their office conducted itself. It is unhelpful for somebody who was formerly in the PSNI to make disparaging comments of that nature about the ombudsman's role and office. Secondly, there is a theoretical possibility that, if the ombudsman believed that there was a serious breach that would have led to dismissal at the time, someone could be recalled. I hope that the Member is not suggesting that we should simply turn a blind eye to such a serious breach, given his previous role in PSD.

Will the Member give way?

Assessment

Not flagged

Jev’s structured answers met the documented threshold for “not flagged”.

  • Overall probability that the activity is being used to promote, exploit or escalate an identity-based controversy: 0.11 (flagging needs at least 0.70; at or below 0.30 is not flagged).
  • None of the five culture-war criteria was met (each was below 0.60).
  • No identity-based framing was identified (1.00).
  • The overall probability was at or below the not-flagging threshold.

This is an AI-generated assessment of the text, made against published criteria. It is not a finding of fact about the MLA or their intentions. The Assembly record itself is the fact.
