Text
I thank the Member for his question. Certainly, I am happy to associate myself with those remarks. Our speech and language therapists do an amazing job. The Member will be aware of the work that the Department is undertaking on post-19 special educational needs to ensure that we support our young people as they transition out of school and into other settings and on the support that is required across a range of disciplines for that. He will also be aware of the increase in demand for the services and the increasing number of young people who present with additional and complex needs. We need to ensure that we have professionals coming through who are able to support them. As I indicated to the Member, I am happy to look into that issue further and engage with my Executive colleagues on it.
