All of Mr Alex Easton’s imported questions, contributions and motions in this mandate, newest first, including those assessed as not flagged, uncertain or not yet analysed.
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure whether he will consider using car garage dealers to assist in clearing the backlog of those awaiting an MOT appointment.
My comments will be short, as many of the points have been clearly stated. There is no doubt that the current MOT system is broken. That stems from COVID, which led to a huge backlog of vehicles that were not able to get MOTs. That has led to a broken system, with a broken computer system that either does not work…
To ask the Minister for Communities why the houses bought by his Department at Kings Street, Bangor, have not been demolished as part of the Queens Parade project.
To ask the Minister of Justice to detail (i) the current prison population size; and (ii) how that compares with (a) England; (b) Scotland; and (c) Wales.
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure whether he has plans to increase the amount of fines for those who have cut down trees that have a Tree Preservation Order.
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure to detail the amount paid out in claims for damage to vehicles as a result of (i) potholes; and (ii) general road defects, in the last three years.
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure for an update on the upgrade of the crossroads at Upper Gransha Road, Killaughey Road, Ballyblack Road and Movilla Road.
Minister, all those criteria have been met, but the situation is still going on after four years. Does the Minister agree that the safety of the pupils at St Columbanus’ College who use that road is paramount?
Mr Easton asked the Minister for Infrastructure when the project to install a pedestrian crossing on the East Circular Road in Bangor, which the pupils and staff of St Columbanus’ College have been waiting for for four years, will actually happen.
